Hitter of the Week (Week 8):
Jordan Lurie (UNC Asheville) Gastonia
Lurie, a junior at UNC Asheville, started all five games for the Grizzlies and finished with a .600 average. He had 12 hits, including a pair of doubles, while tallying four RBIs and a league-best nine runs scored on the week. Furthermore, Lurie racked up 14 total bases, had a slugging percentage of .700, and an on-base percentage of .680 - another league-high. He also was walked five times and was a perfect 5-for-5 on stolen base attempts.

Chris Smith (UVa-Wise) Martinsville Smith, a junior from UVa-Wise, made four appearances including one start for the Mustangs. In 7 1/3 innings of work, the 6-4, 195-pound right-hander scattered three hits while walking two and striking out nine to earn a 1-0 record with a perfect 0.00 ERA. Opposing batters also just hit .120 against him.

Co-Pitchers of the Week (Week 8): Adam Westmoreland (South Carolina) Columbia Westmoreland, a redshirt-sophomore from South Carolina, picked up a win for the Blowfish in his start on the mound, earning a 1-0 record and perfect 0.00 ERA on the week. The 6-4, 265-pound lefty threw seven innings of five-hit baseball, walked zero and struck out eight.
