He was a fixture in left field in the Owls Petitt Cup playoff run, batting .389 with two doubles, one home run, and four RBI. Buckner was successful on two out of three stolen base attempts in the playoffs. For West Virginia in 2009 Buckner hit .325 with 21 doubles, one triple, five home runs, and 45 RBI. Buckner stared all 55 games for the Mountaineers. Out of Herbert Hoover High School, Buckner was named the Gatorade Player of the Year for West Virginia as a senior. | ||||||||

Brian Burton is a junior adolescent education and history major from Kitchener, Ontario. The 6-2, 215 pound infielder will see action for the Owls at first base and as a designated hitter. For the Owls last season Burton appeared in 39 games, starting 36, and hit .276 with five home runs, nine doubles, and 39 RBI. Burton hit .353 with four RBI and one home run in the Owls five games in the Petitt Cup Playoffs. He started every game of the playoffs at first base. For Canisius in 2009 he hit .290 with six home runs and 27 RBI in 145 at bats. | ||||||||

Fant was named to the first team all-District 15-5A honors as a senior last spring at Cy Woods High School. He went 6-2 with a 1.32 ERA with 85 strikeouts with just 12 walks leading the team to a 21-7 record and bi-district championship. As a junior, Fant finished the year with a 2.42 ERA and 45 strikeouts. He is majoring in engineering at Rice with plans of becoming a chemical engineer. | ||||||||

McNair lead the baseball team at Westlake High School to the 2009 state semifinals and to the regional semifinals in 2007 and 2008. As a senior he maintained a 1.29 ERA and was named first-team all-District 25-5A. He was the winning pitcher of the 2009 Central Texas All-Star game. McNair is a political science major. He is the grandson of Forest City native Bob McNair, for whom McNair Field is named. | ||||||||

McQuail is originally from Wantagh, Long Island and is majoring in physical and health education. Last season at Canisius McQuail started 45 games for the Griffins and saw action in five others. He batted .314 with 10 home runs, 14 doubles, and 45 RBI. McQuail played for the Front Royal Cardinals of the Valley League last summer where he finished third on the team in batting average. McQuail hit .309 with 16 home runs, 14 doubles, and 42 RBI. McQuail lead the league in home runs and total bases, and was second in the league in RBI. He was successful on six of eight stolen base attempts. The Cardinals finished with a 30-17 record. | ||||||||
